In 2009 the fashion industry was hit very hard by the dreaded economic crisis, many houses closed. But there has been some fantastic highlights, the light at the end of a dark tunnel, these highlights include the emergence of young and fresh talents, who used 2009 to solidify their presence. Names like Alexander Wang and Gareth Pugh come to mind, but this article is about Rad Hourani, whose equally deserving of the same amount of praise for sticking to his genuine artistic integrity.

Mixing the highest end of fashion, couture, with grunge and a gorgeously filthy background is all the rage in fashion editorials (even mixing it with glam rock). While this is not a new concept at all, photographer Rafael Stahelin and stylist Ye Young Kim manage to give us great original spin on the idea in the latest Vogue Korea. Starring supermodel Karlie Kloss, the editorial is justifiably titled “Trash Couture”.
