SQUA.RE – So you accessed the inaccessible…. what next?
H – We’ve been working hard on our next trip getting sponsors together… leaving in August for Africa; to climb the Mountains of the Moon then Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. There will be just two of us this time with an armed ranger and four porters.
SQUA.RE – What’s the danger?
The Mountains of the Moon, namely Margarita (M.Stanley), Vittorio Emananuele (Mt.Speke) and Edward (Mt.Baker) are still rarely visited due to their remoteness and nearby conflict. One of it’s peaks is the 3rd highest on the African continent with vast glaciers spilling off the rocky peak and an endless blanket of the Congo jungle filling the horizon. Only the hardiest dare venture here as you wade through waist deep mud and endure almost perpetual rain or snow.
