While he is not very well known (yet!), Japanese designer Tatsuro Horikawa launched Julius 2001 in Tokyo and has since gathered a devoted cult following, the same followers as Rick Owens‘ hard-edginess and Ann Demeulemeester’s romanticism. For the Fall/Winter 2010 collection, Julius decided to go much darker than their previous collection, with skin-tight-skin-baring silhouettes that do not even make you think of winter, it is a hard collection, most definitely not for the faint of heart.

The LA Paris based designer shows a collection of fantastic minimalistic proportions, suggesting a futuristic look for Goth-loving-Ziggy-Stardust-Iggy-Pop passionate with a twist of wearability in a Rick Owens sense. Featuring an array of funnel collars, hints of fur in the usual colours, and python/reptile skin boots and heels.

One of the absolute best fashion designers there are, Riccardo Tisci for the beautiful legendary French house, Givenchy, Tisci delivers a fantastic collection as is always expected of him. Influenced by Christianity and life at an Italian monastery, with models wearing fitted black suits and trousers, with crisp white shirts and bold leather pieces, sometimes accompanied with tights or skirt/shorts, walking in patent leather sandals and very beautiful crown-of-thorns necklaces. This is definitely one of our very favorite collections for the Fall/Winter 2010 men collections.

The recent earthquake in Haiti still leaves thousands in tragic conditions where basic necessities are scarce and the struggle for life is a constant. Last week over 100 entertainers from around the world came together for the goal of raising money toward relief toward the Haiti in a concert telethon called Hope for Haiti Now.
